Product photos on eBay are one of the key factors determining whether a buyer will be interested in your listing. A quality image not only makes the item more appealing but also provides a clearer understanding of its appearance and possible uses.

eBay’s rules require at least one photo for every product listed. However, to increase the likelihood of a sale, it is recommended to showcase the item from various angles. In most categories, sellers can upload up to 24 high-quality photos per product.

It is important that photos are sharp enough, with a neutral background and good lighting—this helps the buyer trust that the item meets their expectations. The more high-quality shots you provide, the more likely the buyer is to choose your listing.

eBay Image Requirements for Product Photos

Each listed product must have at least one photo.
Product photos may not have frames.
Product photos may not include additional text or graphics.
JPG product photos must use the RGB color profile.
The CMYK color profile is not supported.
All image files are converted to JPG upon upload.

Since the JPG Format Does not Support Transparency:

If you upload PNG files with a transparent background, the background will be automatically converted to white.
If you upload TIF files with a transparent background, the background may be converted to black.

eBay Requirements for Product Image Files:

Dimensions: minimum 500 x 500 px, maximum 9000 x 9000 px.
Maximum file size: 12 MB.
Supported eBay image file types: JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, and AVIF.
Number of eBay product photos per listing: gallery from 1 to 24 images.

Images must be original or legally owned by you. If you receive photos from a supplier, you likely have the right to publish them (worth confirming). However, you may not attach photos copied from another eBay listing, website, or seller.
